THE BUBBIE BREAK
A NOTE FROM MARION SCHWARZ
(Executive Producer of JAMS Productions and Host of The Bubbie Break)
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the people who still care about "The Bubbie Break." I am always pleasantly surprised when people recognize me and tell me they loved my show. To tell you the absolute truth, I loved doing it and I miss it.
We produced 65 half hour episodes but only 52 were ever shown. It was frustrating when the series was taken off the air, and I wish we would have made different arrangements regarding the Host Broadcaster, but that was then and this is now, and we can’t go back in time, we have to go forward...
There are plans to put the entire series on DVD, and I hope to start investigating possibilities in the very near future.
Since The Bubbie Break, I have been involved in Executive Producing two documentaries and four pilots. The documentaries received tremendous response while the pilots are still fresh and exciting. One of the pilots was called, “What’s Cooking Grandma!” and, strangely enough, another series came out that was very similar in concept. We have no exact proof that it was a direct take off of our pilot, but as the saying goes, if it walks like and duck, and quacks like a duck, it’s usually a duck. It was a rude awakening to what can go wrong in the television world.
I have written a book called The Bubbie Way, that tells the behind-the-scene story of my five years on television. If you are interested in getting a copy, please let me know. I will provide all the information you need. If you are interested, I will also happily include a signed message.
There is a lot to read on this site, but I wanted to say hello, and to let you know that I appreciate the support I still receive. It is funny -- when my show was on the air, and I was writing a weekly newspaper column, I heard from a lot of people and I wondered how many were bandwagon jumpers and how many were sincere. I can tell you, I now know the answer. Doing "The Bubbie Break" was a great lesson in Television Production and in Life.
If you want to reach me, please don’t hesitate to email me at marion@jamsproductions.ca.
I promise I will return all letters. Take care of yourself and thanks for the visit.
ERE'S BUBBIE!
For all of my friends who have read my column, "The Bubbie Break," or watched my television program also called "The Bubbie Break," I say welcome to the internet. (The Bubbie Break is my grandparenting talk show…as I say, "A Grandmother in any language means love." The show was on TV for five seasons and aired nationally in Canada and in pockets of the United States.) So…to all of the people who will be coming to our new website for visits I hope I can keep you informed about what is happening in this busy Grandmother's life.

RANDPARENT YEAR ACT

He said: Madam Speaker, the next hour is an opportunity for the House to set aside partisan differences, to show our appreciation and to demonstrate the value of grandparents in the family unit.

THE BUBBIE WAY: THOUGHTS BY A GRANDMOTHER ABOUT BEING ON TELEVISION AND ON LIFE...
"IF YOU LOVE SOMETHING GO FOR IT! OTHERWISE LIFE WILL PASS YOU BY"
I love collecting antiques; I guess I've always had a great deal of respect for the past. I would go to visit farmers with my husband Joe (who is in the cattle business) and buy antique dishes or figurines directly from the farmers or their wives. It was always interesting to share a cup of tea with a farm wife, and talk about the history of a particular item. I usually did this while Joe was busy checking out Holstein Cows or Heifers.
